Wednesday, 14th September - Santa Fe to Albuquerque

A relatively short hop today as we continue west to Albuquerque.

We left Santa Fe on the Turquoise Trail, another (very) scenic drive.

The pictures in no way do it justice.

We met Suse's cousin, Glyn, and his wife Jeanne in the old mining town of Madrid, perhaps more famous in recent times as the location of the final scene in the film "Wild Hogs".

We visited Glyn and Jeanne's former home in the Sandia Mountains before checking in to our hotel, The Clyde, in downtown Albuquerque.

This evening we are dropping by at Aunt Barbara's home off Rio Grande Boulevard before dining with Barbara, Glyn and Jeanne at reputedly the best New Mexican restaurant in Albuquerque, El Pinto.

Thought for the day 😉

  1. Burritos are order of the day. If the restaurant is the best new Mexican restaurant Where's the best old one?
